Crime ID: Date of Crime: Type of Crime: Town/City/Place: Crime Description: We are living in Auckland, NZ. I am writing about crimes that have happened to close family and friends of mine... My aunt (my mom's only sister) and husband were attacked in their home in Wendywood. They came in through the stable door in the kitchen, unfortunately the stable door was open with the key hanging in it, and the security gate was locked. They came in tied my aunt and uncle up (they are both in their 60's). They tied them up, put pillow cases over their heads, pistol whipped my uncle, kicked them both - my aunt was black and blue and so was my uncle. They dragged them to the bedroom and ransacked the house, they said to my aunt, we are going to rape you, you white b$%&*! My uncle managed to lock themselves in their bedroom, and the thugs couldn't get back into the room - thank goodness, who knows what would have happened! They were both fine - physically but not emotionally! My uncle has also been hijacked outside his home and my aunt robbed of her petty cash at the retirement village she works at. My brothers friend - a Police Reservist was hijacked outside a friends house in 2005, he was shot 3 times, once in the foot, and 2 in the torso - luckily the one bullet went into his leatherman, and the other one into his cell phone, it wasn't his day! He shot back, because he has a gun, but they got away! My sister has been hijacked at gunpoint for her city golf, back in 1999. My sister in law was in an armed robbery in a butcher. Two of my good friends have been hijacked, luckily escaping injury! I know of lots more crimes, but I can't possibly list them all here... we have left SA for good, we don't want to become a statistic! Julie
